Johannes Schmidt

Johannes, through his own company “Alphaporting”, is providing consulting services to startups, helping them to strengthen their understanding, handling, and execution of challenges pertaining to Marketing/Sales, and Risk Management.

In his role as a startup mentor with the German American Chamber of Commerce, as well as the German Accelerator, Johannes has been working with companies from Germany entering the US market. His general focus is on Proptech and Fintech entities.

Johannes currently serves on the Board of the Foundation for the International Real Estate Industry (“FIREI”). FIREI is an industry membership organization, which educates Real Estate professionals on the latest technological advancements, tools, and technologies available.

He holds a master’s degree in Banking, Finance & Investment Management from University of Applied Sciences in Ansbach, Germany, as well as a Certificate in Real Estate Finance and Investment from NYU.

Johannes lives in New York with his wife, son, and two adorable dogs. He’s the newest member on the condo board where his depth and relationships in real estate are highly regarded.

Johannes Schmidt has a diverse background that includes working for many years on Wall Street with Deutsche Bank to his current position as Head of Credit Risk with Spring 11, a Newmark subsidiary. His unique set of experience, combined with his expertise in Credit Risk makes him an essential asset at Spring11, where he formally assesses the probability of default affiliated with corporate tenants, and identifies, measures, monitors, and addresses Credit Risk issues for clients in Real Estate. Having an extensive network has allowed him to support Spring11s business development efforts, which include Real Estate Underwriting, Lease Abstraction / Administration, Third Party Site Visits, Asset Management, Property Accounting, KYC and/or AML Verification, AUP services, as well as Staff Augmentations.
