Yungie Hahn’s background and education led her into the fields of astrophysics, biomedical engineering and robotics before becoming an architect. Before starting H2 Architects, Yungie Hahn worked for R.M. Kliment Frances Halsband Architects and Pompei A.D., both in New York, Christoph Mäckler Architect in Frankfurt and Kramm & Strigl in Darmstadt. Her work for these firms included large-scale government/public buildings, mixed-use commercial developments, university planning and feasibility studies, retail stores, and commercial office renovations. Exhibitions include Landmark Tower/U2 Studio, Dublin, Ireland. Awards include Construction Specifications Institute, First Place, for comprehensive building technology in an industrial/loft design. Teaching includes Adjunct Professor at New York City Technical College in 2001/2002 and juror at the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. Yungie received a Bachelors of Science in Physics from MIT and a Masters of Architecture from Columbia University.

H2 Architects’ work encompasses commercial, retail, residential, institutional, mixed-use development, interior design, furniture design and lighting design. The firm provides a full range of professional services including feasibility studies, design, construction documents, bidding, contractor selection, and construction administration.

H2 has been fortunate to have opportunities to work with sustainable technologies such as green roofs and geothermal thermal heating and cooling as well as able to explore the use of other materials, such as carbon fiber, not commonly used in the construction industry. We are LEED certified as well as New York State and New York City MWBE (Minority and Women-Owned Business Entrepreneur)

H2’s commitment to design excellence and solutions-oriented design is enhanced by the cumulative experience of the two principals of over 40 years. In every project, the firm grasps client’s needs, analyzes constraints, finds opportunities, and seeks to create a dynamic design that functions within the parameters of the site, context, and budget.
