William Montana

Bill Montana is Senior Managing Director at Savills, a global real estate advisory firm. Since 1988, he has been providing real estate advisory services to major corporations, institutions, and not-for-profit organizations located in the New York metropolitan area and nationally. He and his team structure creative and innovative occupancy solutions that save their clients money.

Mr. Montana has achieved a reputation of excellence from his peers. He is known throughout the industry as an accomplished professional with the highest degree of integrity. Mr. Montana is a tenacious advocate for his clients, yet his collaborative negotiating style enables him to build and maintain strong relationships with tenants and landlords alike. Clients he has represented include: Microsoft, EMC, SONY, Mitsubishi, The Topps Company, Sullivan & Cromwell, Gordon & Rees, The New York Foundation, Samaritan Daytop Village, and Massey Knakal, among others.

Mr. Montana is actively involved in the real estate industry; He is Chairman Emeritus of the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association and serves on its membership committee. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York, is Co-Chairman of REBNY’s Commercial Board of Directors, Chairman of its Leasing Brokers committee and serves on its Ethics and Arbitration committees. He is a past President of the Real Estate Services Alliance. In 2013 Mr. Montana was named Young Man of the Year by YM/WREA and REBNY, an award given for integrity, knowledge and accomplishments in the field of real estate. In 2015 he was the recipient of the Louis Smadbeck award which recognizes career accomplishments, service to the industry and integrity. In 2016 he was presented a Deal of Distinction Award from Smart CEO Magazine and the Executive Association of New York for exceptional work on behalf of the Teacher’s Retirement Systems of the City of New York. In 2023 he received the Senior Man of the Year Award from the YMWREA.

Mr. Montana is a dedicated philanthropist. He is Chairman of the board of Stamford CT’s Shelter for the Homeless and served on the board of the New York City Clothing Bank. He is a Knight of Columbus, 4 th Degree and past Grand Knight of the Greenwich, CT council. He has been an ardent fund-raiser for many charitable organizations including the Buonoconti Fund to cure paralysis, the Starlight Foundation, the Tuberous Sclerosis Society, the United Nations Development Fund and others. He works with and supports organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Central Park Conservancy, the NY Blood Center, City Harvest, New York Cares, Business Executives for National Security, and Abilis. Mr. Montana participates in multiple mentoring programs, and speaks annually to high school, college and graduate students about careers in real estate. He runs, and speaks regularly at real estate symposiums, is quoted frequently in business publications and has written numerous published articles. For the past six years, he has taught a real estate class at NYU through The Real  Estate Services Alliance.
