Eric Deutsch has spent his thirty-year career in the real estate and economic development fields, serving senior positions in the public, non-profit and for profit sectors. Eric has experience in several market segments, from industrial to residential, and with all aspects of the development process, from financing to design and construction.

Eric is best known for his service as the President and CEO of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp. His tenure there helped hail the renaissance of the industrial market in NYC, creating a model that is still followed today. He went on to become the President of the Alliance for Downtown NY, the largest Business Improvement District in America. Eric started his years in the public realm at the New York City Economic Development Corp., serving nearly eight years and becoming the Executive Director of the New York City Industrial Development Agency. Eric also served as the Executive Director of the Group of 35, a blue ribbon panel of 35 important leaders that was assembled by Senator Charles Schumer to spur commercial development in New York City. The Group of 35 Report has long been credited with being instigating the redevelopment the of the Hudson Yards on the West Side of Manhattan as well as Downtown Brooklyn and Long Island City.

Eric’s private sector career has seen him serve as a Managing Director at the Clarett Group, developing luxury residential projects in Manhattan and Brooklyn. He also served for six years as the head of US Operations for a French company, completing projects in Chicago and Philadelphia. Earlier in his career Eric also worked as a Manager at KPMG in the Real Estate Consulting practice, primarily underwriting loans to be packaged into commercial mortgage backed securities. Eric is currently Managing Director of ELM NYC Properties, leading the redevelopment of the former Elmhurst Dairy site in Jamaica, Queens. He is also a principal in D|L Development, which is focused on the acquisition and repositioning of industrial buildings in the outer boroughs of New York City.
