David is former director of public affairs for New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development. After serving as vice president of Howard J. Rubenstein Associates, he formed his own public relations firm in August 1974, specializing in real estate. David is currently owner and President of Grant PR.
A New Yorker almost all of his life, David is a graduate of Queens College and attended The New York University Graduate School of Arts and Science, majoring in economics. He was New York City Hall reporter and deputy bureau chief for The Long Island Press and contributed free lance articles to a number of publications, including The New York Times’ real estate section.
David is: an immediate past member of the executive committee of the New York City chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), which specializes in marketing for firms in architecture, engineering and construction; a member of R.E.N.T. (Real Estate Networking & Transactions), the oldest New York City real estate networking group (and a former member of its board); past president of the New York chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA); a former officer in the Counselors Academy, and of the Professional Services Section, of PRSA; a Fellow in PRSA and a former member of the board of directors of the metropolitan New York chapter of the Legal Marketing Association. He has frequently lectured and written on various aspects of public relations.
