In 1995, Alan, through his construction firm, Armax Stone Construction, was awarded the contract to provide significant stonework to the lobby at 1166 Avenue of the Americas. In the late 1980’s, he became the first retail cellular phone store, in Staten Island, North American Cellular, offering in-car cellphones, portable phones, and installation. Additionally, in the early 1990s, Alan joined with his father to provide granite Memorials to those in need of this service through NY Monument Co., expanding the company from one location to 3 before exiting the business through a sale.
